Leaders of the New School Pt. 2

Last year marked XXL Magazine's first "Leaders of the New School" cover which dropped in Nov. '07 and featured Webbie, Lil' Boosie, Saigon, Lupe Fiasco, Papoose, Rich Boy, Gorilla Zoe, Joell Ortiz, Crooked I and Young Dro. Obviously there were some hits and misses (probably more misses), but as someone on the inside, I think we got it right this year! And the good news is if we don't, we've decided to make it an annual thing (you know what they say, if at first you don't succeed...). This year's covers (Dec. '08) have been revealed all over the net but in case you haven't seen them, check out The class of '09:







My favorites are Blu, B.o.B, Kid Cudi and Charles Hamilton.

The actual issue hits newsstands on Obama, I mean Election Day, so go vote and then pick up your copy.

way to go XXL in fucking nino bless, skyzoo, torae, j.a.m.e.s. watts and ac over. oh well. i guess i shouldn't really expect much from a major hip-hop media outlet.

also, asher roth just plain sucks. he's making white rappers look bad everywhere.

I like there selection, I do side with Wally's statement as far as snubs go but that is life...AC, Skyzoo, Torae, Sha Stimuli, and many more could be up for consideration...I think that some of the lists are based on who has the most potential to sell as opposed to skill (although Cory, Blu, and Wale got the skills to pay the bills)
